At the time I was trawling over the internet trying to find a way to get a UK visa for my thai girlfriend. I was concerned about many things as I had been told many a horror story about these 'visa companies' taking your money and frankly not delivering. It was all a little bit much as i really didn't know what to do for the best.
Here's my story.... (briefly)
I used 'Thai Visa Express' and dealt with a chap called 'Paul Aslett'.
He was one of the guys seemingly offering better value.... Other companies was about 30% more expensive.!!
I felt a little reassured when he requested that I use reputable methods of payment. i.e. PayPal. And although (I don’t think he will mind me saying) his communications or responses were a little short and blunt at times, this is just what you need when he's on your side dealing with the Embassy and Immigration.
We did have a rejection the first time around but Paul got straight back on the horse and we re-applied with a little more documentation (letters of explanation and one more month's proof of communication) and we got success the second time - He rang me at 6am (UK time) just to tell me... Bless his cotton socks.!
We did all this during the upheaval of the Songkran water festival when everything shuts for a week and the darn red shirts. This meant we had trips to Bangkok to find the embassy shut and even curfews. The whole process took around a month - but without these troubles i suspect it could be a lot less.
Paul even managed to sort out a very resonalbly priced areoplane ticket too.
The upshot of all this is that I am now writing this sat in my front room in the UK (location kept secret to protect the innocent.. hehe) and sat next to me is my lovely thai lady. She has been here for around two weeks now and we are having a blast. i just love the looks I get when we walk around town and even more so when we go into the local pub.
So, Thanks must go to Paul and his girls, Ying I have just been told her name is, for ... Well, just getting the job done.
